A new report indicates Jaguar plans on unveiling its entry-level sedan this summer, but the model won't go on sale until next year.

The highly anticipated spiritual successor of the X-Type has been spied on numerous occasions and it seems Jaguar is about to remove the camouflage as according to Just-Auto the baby Jag sedan will be officially revealed this summer. Set most likely to receive the XS moniker, the entry-level Jaguar is programmed to go on sale in the first half of 2015 and will ride on the newly developed iQ[Al] platform.

Customers will have the possibility of selecting from an extensive range of engines, including a high-end motor which will enable the Jaguar XS (name not confirmed) to do 186 mph (300 km/h). On the other end of the specter, there will allegedly be an economical version which will have CO2 emissions of less than 100 g/km.

The same report indicates Jaguar hasn't decided whether the C-X17 concept will receive a production variant.
