Just DIY this.........

Recommended Posts

Dear Bros,

Been having a thought to stick a thin reflective strip around the edge of the rear valence. Then, something came up to my mind, so I decided to do this instead a reflective strip. Just to share I just did this recently.......installing it is quite painstaking.. Thought its easy to just push in between the gap, but I was wrong. Took me few hours. Wasn't easy in the beginning. Until I figured a way. Sprayed WD-40 between the gaps. Let it sit. Then, slowly insert the strip inch by inch. Broke both my thumb nails too and 4 painful fingers (both thumbs and index fingers). Almost gave up this first time.  Some interval area is obstructed by supports. So, need to cut away the inserts, else it will protrude and won't sit flush to the gap.

It looks like this.........

It looks like this when parking lights is on.............I cut away its original cig 12v plug. Then, connect to rear lamp wire loom.

in the dark................ actually is the camera exposure that makes it look brighter than actual.

Wow nice! Btw did you mod the car plate light to white too?

Hi,

Yes, I did. Sharp eyes you have. Looks like this. Bottom pic is the type of LED used. It's a single sided SMD LEDs.

Please let me know where you got this. I want to change mine to white. Haha. If there is a gathering I wanna learn the red led installation too. Haha

Bro,

sorry the delay. I was trying to search where i bought the LED. However, I found one in eBay search which is similar but has 6x LEDs instead. I used this 6x LEDs type for the puddle light (the light under the wing mirror). Here's the link below. Sure, no problem, i can show you how I did it but be prepared for aching fingers after that lasted for days. I almost gave up. Happy trying!!

Good job. Yeah bit bright. My current only has 4x SMD LED. Just bout right, but initially I also find it too bright, cos comparing to the original bulb. After awhile, got used to it. The 6x SMD LEDs will be too bright too. Anyway, since you already install, just let be.

Looks like this. Need to do some minor customization using pen-knife to make sure it fits the plug. :)
Apparently this is too bright and fails inspection =_=

did it really fail inspection? what did the inspection say?

did you try to claim that it was stock white?

tks in advance.
