  2. I went back to Autobolts first thing on Monday, and they have fixed my problem by doing the wheel alignment. They have also adjusted my DPF position to reduce the unnecessary rattling so all is good.   3. Thanks. Unfortunately he's only available on Tuesday. And I got some urgent meeting on Tuesday. Sigh... Does anybody think our control arm will be affected just because of a curb hit?   6. my car is parked mostly underground (in office and home). however, it spent easily 4-5 months in total in the last 4 years in Wearne's workshop. I think that has contributed to the deterioration of the buttons!
  7. strange that you guys have DPF warning message / indicator when your DPF is full. When it happens for me (at least that's what Wearnes claim its happening for my case), I only get a generic "servicing required" indicator light, with no indication that it's DPF related. I have a XF 2.2D, is that the reason why the message is different from the bros here who are driving XF 3.0D?

  9. Thanks. What's the damaged? I had mine done at Wearnes. They diagnosed the fault lies on the sensor but they refuse to change just that part. Eventually whole coolant system was changed. Cost me over $400. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  16. Thanks, it's enlightening. It looks like there are other cause for regeneration, or fuel diluting engine oil. I believe my EGR failed about 1 year after the servicing light indicator appeared. Not sure if they are related. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

After reading through the replies, and exchanges of notes with a buddy, I understand the underlying situation of Diesel cars, the issues, etc. However, I still don't think that explains the frequency that I got the servicing indicator lit, it either means the DPF has that high block level (thus regen wouldn't help) or something is wrong that cause unnecessary regen.
  18. Can I ask what's DPF block level? What results in in such a high level, and what should be done to reset, if possible.
  19. Problem is the engine oil will be diluted within 2 months, how to wait for year end drive trip to KL? If what I am encountering is norm, I would have expected most of diesel drivers having to go to KL every 2 months, joke right?
  20. Hi all, I have been keeping silence for one particular issue I have been facing since 2015, as I have been trying to work with Wearnes to resolve it. I feel now I have come to a point where I may need to take a drastic action. So I am seeking your views and inputs. I got my XF 2.2D in 2013 July. It was running fine till July 2015 after I sent it in for servicing. The car was still running fine for 2-3 months but servicing required indicator lit up. Workshop thought they did not reset the servicing data correctly, so car was sent in in Dec 2015 for a servicing reset. Unfortunately the problem recurred again, 2 months later. And this had been recurring for at least 6 times (many times I had to wait for 1-2 months to get my appointment) , each time I had to bring the car in to investigate but each time they told me either they update the software or reset the system. Obviously all these actions did not solve the problem. My driving style had not changed since Dec 2014. (before that I don't drive as much due to the fact my son was not bored yet, so I did not have to ferry him to my mum place). But problem occur only on July 2015, and each time it happened, it usually happened 2 months after the reset. Every morning 6.30am I would drive from Telok Kurau to Tampines to drop my son. I would then drive to my workplace in Alexandra. In between I will drop my wife at her workplace at Kallang. Most of the time, traffic is light and I am on highway, barring those small roads leading to the office. Evening wise will be a reverse of the route. So every weekday my mileage is about 80km, but mostly on highway. Weekend mileage is usually halved of that, many times lower. Again, this has been the driving route since 2014 (before that I would have avoided the East Coast - Tampines route), and I don't think my driving style is any different from average driver in Singapore, albeit for a slightly longer distance coverage in a day. Weekend, sometimes we go to Jurong or Seletar, so minimum of 15-20 mins of highway is common. On the 7th visit (honestly I lost count), Jaguar and Wearnes claimed that my car were regenerating 513 times but only successfully 12 times. That causes the engine oil to dilute prematurely and thus resulting in what I am experiencing right now. Basically, car has no problem, accordingly to them. But if they have not done any different to the car, it means the problem with recur again 2-3 months later, and I will be going through this cycle perpetually. It doesn't seem to make sense to me. Nobody has explained why the car regenerate excessively in the first place, and are just explaining what the computer logged, and not why it's logged in the way it is currently. It looks like I either have to live with the problem, or get rid of it. Any advise or inputs?
  21. Hi guys, First of all, my apologies for the lack of participation in this forum, due to my overwhelming work. I had two technical questions relating to regenerating in diesel cara. 1. my understanding is regenerating is to burn off the soot particles. under what circumstances would regeneration happen, ie does it happen regardless of the driving pattern and mileage? 2 one of effect of regeneration is dilution of engine oil. I was told regeneration may be successful or not successful depending on the parameters, does the dilution of engine oil happen regardless of the outcome of regeneration process?
  22. not trying to fan the issue here, but I have to say I don't really have positive post sales experience to speak about. I had an issue (servicing light indicator pop up every 2000-4000km, despite driving on highway 70%-80% of the time), since 2015, and till now, after 5 workshop visits (each visit at least a week long, with the longest being a month long), nothing conclusive yet. To be fair, the service executive who attended my issue since the 3rd workshop visit, had been trying his best to minimize the inconvenience, but at the end of the day, I don't think its something that the frontline staff can really resolve. XFS, not sure if you have access to upper management, but if so, I would really like to 'escalate' this to the higher level, even though I was assured that the management is aware of my issue.
